RingtoneFeeder is a relatively small scale ringtone download site which makes itself stand out by offering completely original ringtones composed and produced by artist Geoff Smith. You won't find these ringtones on any other site as they have all been composed especially for RingtoneFeeder. The site itself is easy to use and installing ringtones is pretty simple as long as you have an iPhone. The ringtones will work on other devices, but it's a slightly trickier process to get them on in the first place.
RingtoneFeeder is designed simply and effectively to give you all the information you need to sign up and get started downloading. We had no problem navigating our way around and it was easy to sign up to become a subscriber. Paypal is the only form of payment taken though so do make sure you have an account ready if you want to sign up. One thing we did find a bit annoying, however, was that we couldn't see the ringtones available for download before becoming a subscriber. There are a few free samples available, but this isn't quite the same as being able to preview the whole collection.
There are two options for signing up to RingtoneFeeder. Paying annually lets you download any of the more than 300 ringtones available whenever you like, while paying monthly only gives you access to the most recent 10. Both subscription plans include access to the 2 new ringtones which are released each week. This isn't bad value for the number of ringtones on offer, but when we visited it didn't look like the site had been updated in a while, so don't hold your breath for guaranteed new ringtones each week.
Accessing the ringtones on RingtoneFeeder is optimized for iPhones. The sound quality of each is also tested thoroughly on the iPhone before it is released. Using iTunes is the easiest way to get ringtones on your phone and, if you are having trouble, there are a few video tutorials to show you how to do it. RingtoneFeeder also provides a podcast which you can subscribe to in iTunes in order to automatically download new ringtones as they are released. Most ringtones are compatible with Android devices too, but it is a more involved process to get them onto your phone. However, there is a useful guide on how to go about it.
RingtoneFeeder doesn't have the number of ringtones that some of the big libraries have and you won't find tunes from your favourite pop artists here. However, if you are looking for something a bit different to impress your friends, you might just find it. Geoff Smith's compositions are fun, original and inexpensive so this could be exactly what your phone needs!
